Hilton Hotel Beauty and Fashion Shoot

After a night at the Hilton Hotel, I couldn't help but see this as a perfect opportunity to take some beauty and fashion style photographs. The four images I have selected have all been edited in black and white to create a unique and vintage feel and this first image is no exception. The striking impact of the black and white, as well as the angelic and animated look of the model creates a captivating effect.

The selected images have all been edited using brightness and contrast, as well as shadows and highlights, but I've also recently discovered a histogram effect which allows me to add more of a character to the photographs. This next image has a soft and natural beauty feel, while the histogram effect creates a sense of mystery and enigma which powerfully captures the eye of the viewer.

However, the next photograph features an eye-catching contrast to the previous image as it powerfully uses the histogram effect to create a dark and monster-like beauty shot which looks like an action image from a 1950's movie. The details of the image such as the model's lips and the angle of the face strikingly stand out. Also, similar to the previous image, an interesting contrast is created between the darkness and the light.
The final image is a personal favourite of mine from this shoot as it features a more understated editing but at the same time creates more of an impact. The direct eye of the model powerfully captures the attention of the viewer and the black and white effect once again creates a sense of something vintage and mysterious. Feel free to comment below as I would really appreciate any constructive criticism anybody has to offer. Also, look out for future posts and follow me on Twitter @JaGar94.

Lucy's First Shoot

My model Lucy is perfect for portraiture style photography. Her striking and unique features make for some outstanding images. The left image is eye-catching for its angelic and simplistic feel, and after directing Lucy on changing her angles with each shot, we managed to achieve this stunning photograph. I've edited the brightness and contrast to highlight the best features, also the central and direct eye adds a sense of power and mystery to the image.
This next image has more of an urban and beauty-in-action style edge. The black and white effect adds a vintage and captivativing feel which combines with the off-centred positioning of the model to create this striking photograph. Apart from the black and white effect, I edited the brightness and contrast of the image, as well as played around with shadows and highlights to bring out the distinct features of the model in the image.
The third image is arguably the most powerful of the three for its sharpness and clarity. The image combines the best features of the the first two photographs in which the off-centred positioning creates a sense of action and edgyness, while the direct eye of the model is powerfully piercing. Also, the green background creates an element of nature and serenity, which adds to the overall effect of the image.
The final image is a personal favourite of mine from Lucy's first shoot. The angelic and fantasy style photograph commands attention for its interesting contrast between black and white, which creates this beautiful silhouette. I edited the brightness and contrast of the image, as well as shadows and highlights to reinforce the image in the best possible way.
